About Us

Established in 1952, we take pride in shaping the next generation of lifesavers through our lifeguard programs. Our club thrives thanks to the diverse and dedicated members who make it a vital part of the community.

We patrol a 10 km stretch of Midway Beach every Saturday and Sunday from November to mid-March, ensuring the safety of beachgoers.

Each summer, our lifeguards contribute around 2000 hours of patrol time, performing approximately 450 preventative actions to maintain a safe environment, and rescuing an average of 10 individuals from the water. Our Junior and Senior Surf Sports programs are highly successful, with athletes competing at local, regional, and national levels.

At Midway, you can begin your journey to becoming a lifeguard. Starting with our Little Rippers program, children develop beach safety awareness and aquatic skills. As they grow, they progress through training in first aid and rescue, preparing to serve and protect our community as skilled lifeguards.
